Summer Youth League (VOLUNTEER COACH PRICE)

We are excited to announce that we will have a summer co-ed youth league! Come join this amazing program for boys and girls ages 9 to 17!
Vortex Volleyball Leagues could not exist without the support of parents who volunteer to support their athlete. That why we off a 50% discount off of the regular price to anyone who steps up to coach (depending on available slots). And don't worry; you will have lots of support available if you are a little nervous!
(In the event that we do not need as many coaches as the number that applied, non-selected applicants will need to pay the balance of the program the day of your child's evaluations )
This is an 10-week program with an end of league tournament. Practices will be held on Mondays or Tuesdays with matches on Saturdays. There is an additional weekly practice you can choose to purchase in the programs menu labeled DELTA Athletics add on for Summer Youth League. This add-on session will take place Thursdays.
YOU MUST ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM BEFORE YOUR ATHLETE’S EVALUATION DATE!

EVALUATION DATES & TIMES
9/10s – Mon May 20th – 5:00 – 6:15
11/12s – Mon May 20th – 6:45 – 8:00
13/14s – Tue May 21st – 5:00 – 6:15
15-17s – Tue May 21st – 6:45 – 8:00
- Age group is determined by the athletes age at evaluation
- Athletes who turn 18 during any portion of the season are not permitted in the league.
- Evaluations will consist of multiple volleyball skills including serving, passing, and setting.
- Evaluation scores will be the basis for determining which team a player will be assigned to for the regular season and are vital to creating fair and balanced teams.
- Only registered players will be evaluated.
- Parents should stay during the evaluation process.
- Players should wear kneepads to evaluations.
- Team formation is the process of the coaches and the Vortex Staff to place all the players onto teams.
- Team formations will take place the weekend after evaluations.
- Evaluation scores are used to rank players and are used to ensure teams are formed fairly and evenly.
- No changes can be made after the teams have been formed.
- You will receive an email by Friday, May 24th. If you do not receive an email by the 24th, please reach out to amy@vortexvolleyball.com
Practices will begin the week of May 27th.
Saturday Match Days are as follows:
- June 1st
- June 8th
- June 15th
- June 22nd
- June 29th
- July 6th
- July 20th
- July 27th (End of the Season Tournament)
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the tournament will recieve awards
● Each team is guaranteed two matches each Saturday.
● There will be an AM & PM wave with times TBD.
● All games will be played at the Ringgold Vortex Volleyball Center.
● Season schedules will be released the first week of practice.
● Match schedules will be posted on the Vortex website under the "Leagues" tab on the Home page a week before the week before games start.
● The tournament schedule will not be released until the completion of all league matches.
Coaching

Coaching will be on a volunteer only basis from parents or those in the community who are interested.
- Coaches will need to clear a Vortex background check.
- 50% off for Coach’s Children to play in the league with a guaranteed spot for their child on their team.
- Team Parent volunteers will coordinate snacks, ribbons, etc. These individuals can be designated after teams are formed.

Cost: $69.99 (League Enrollment -1 practice, 1 game per week. The fee covers the cost of a Vortex shirt, awards, and officials. Players must provide their own shorts, shoes, and kneepads.
