Training for High School Tryouts
High school trouts in Georgia are almost here!
We'll help get you ready to show your coach the best you've got.
Vortex club coaches Serena Turner Bird (16's coach) and Emma Haddix (18's coach) will be in the gym looking to get you ready.
Every Saturday in April we will be hosting three sessions.
Sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 to build your skills and confidence!

10:00am-11:30am: Serve & Serve Receive
First contact decides games at every level of volleyball.Your high school coach knows that and will be looking for aggressive servers and athletic passers.
We're here to help you build that dependable serve and the confidence to know that you are capable of passing any serve.
12:00pm-1:30pm: Setting
Every player needs to know how to use their hands.Setters control the game and the ability to set a ball well is a great way to demonstrate to your coach that you are a skilled ball control player.
We'll teach you the little things that help you use your hands with confidence.
2:00pm-3:30pm: Hitting & Blocking
Players that differentiate themselves are the ones that actively score points at the net.We'll teach you how to go be athletic and aggresive on both sides of the net.
Come prepared to show the focus and enthusiasm you want your high school coach to see from you at your actual tryout.
Recommended:
-Volleyball gear (shoes, knee pads, etc... whatever you would actually wear to feel fully ready to go)
-Closed top water bottle
-Please eat/hydrate beforehand (we will treat you like an athlete, fuel yourself like one)
-Come prepared to make mistakes and know they aren't failures, they are learning experiences
